Ryan is licensed Investment Advisor Representative and a Certified Public Accountant. He is a Director and the Chief Compliance Officer of Brown Edwards Wealth Strategies (BEWS), a Registered Investment Advisory firm owned by Brown Edwards. He is also a partner and the coordinator of tax services for Brown Edwards. Ryan has over 22 years of public accounting experience in tax, financial planning and succession planning as well as 3 years in private industry.

Ryan’s experience includes a wide variety of tax services and consulting, including corporate, partnership, and individual taxation; retirement and spend-down planning; planning through successions, mergers and acquisitions; and personal financial planning and wealth management.

Ryan graduated with Honors from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Ryan also has a double minor in Mathematics and Economics. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, carries a Series 65 investment license and has been recognized by Virginia Business magazine as a “Virginia Super CPA” in the area of corporate taxation.

He is a graduate of the 32^nd class of the Leadership Lynchburg program, serves as the vice-chair for the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance. Ryan is the treasurer for the Lynchburg Estate Planning Council and the incoming secretary for the Endstation Theatre Company. Ryan also teaches the accounting and finance section for the City of Lynchburg’s Co-Starter Entrepreneur program and the Business for Artists program with Riverview’s Art Space.
